Powers StripAs far as a premise for a TV show the comic book “Powers” is better than most.  In a nutshell, “Powers” takes place in a world where superheroes are part of everyday life.  Superhero-turned-homicide detective Christian Walker works with his partner to investigate deaths associated with people who have (super)powers.  The comic has been around since 2000 and is currently published by Marvel Comics imprint Icon comics.

It was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, and Bendis today confirmed via Twitter that stories about a show being developed for FX may be a reality.  Vulture reported that longtime cop show write Charles Eglee (“The Shield,” “NYPD Blue” and “The Walking Dead”) may join the show as an Executive Producer — which is great news.

You can read more about it here (and more about the comic at the official Powers website) but I’m going to tune into this show, especially since it’s on FX — a friend of the quality cop show (“Terriers” aside).
